The story behind, how it all began / personal note
It happened on a warm summer evening that a mathematician and a designer, two characters who could not be more different, treated themselves with two cappuccinos to finally call it a day at sunset. With a thoughtful look at the sugar shaker, the mathematician brought up a question: How is it possible to get a portion of sugar with a simple mechanism, with the same amount, each time and to have something catchy for the eye? For quite some time already he was thinking about a solution to this question without any success. He guessed that purely with logical approaches this riddle couldn't be solved ... it lacked the visual component. The designer found the task highly challenging and interesting and took the matter from a different point of view. Then, in a flash of inspiration, the intuition played the part of the solution: The design must be shaped like a Zed! An exact portion of sugar could easily be produced with the double bend system and this each time with only a single twist, until it was empty! Perfect, the function resulted from the design, to 100%, which is said to be the pinnacle of industrial design! Frank Lloyd Wright, the famous American architect once said: "Form follows function - that has been misunderstood. Form and function should be one, joined in a spiritual union" and "Less is only more where more is no good". That's it, a sugar dispenser, so simple and precisely defined in its function and at the same time with a classy and noble design, a pure form with pure function, and as result pure design. These were the first steps toward the Hello Linda design project. In the meantime the prototypes have been built and extensively tested with astonishing results. Due to the special shape of the pouring tube, the sugar does not shoot out in a clumsy splash as seen with conventional portioners, but literally "snows" in an elegant way into the cup or the glass, which rounds off the overall concept of this novel sugar dispenser. I'm the designer and this awesome product is made for you.
